TSG Book Club
When I started The Style Geek in 2009, I wanted to find a way to share the things I’m passionate about with my friends near, far, online and offline. While I don’t get to do it nearly as often as I’d like to, reading is one of my favorite, most relaxing pastimes. As a kid, I belonged to the local library’s reading club every summer; and as an adult, I’ve longed to be a part of a bookclub. Since I couldn’t find a bookclub to join in the small town I live in, I thought I’d start one of my own.
Every few months I choose a new book that I think will appeal to a number of people and invite a few of my friends–and anyone who reads this blog–to read along with me. In the past, TSG Bookclubbers have gotten a few fashion tips from Tim Gunn, embarked on a mission to find happiness with Gretchen Rubin and laughed along with Tina Fey as she shared her life’s stories. Right now, I’d like to invite you read along with us as we examine our relationships and dive into the new TSG Bookclub book, Love and War by John and Stasi Eldridge. Starting February 6, 2012, you can follow the posts in the Read section of on my personal blog and share your thoughts in the comments section of each Love and War related post to join in the conversation.

Am I posting in the right spot? eeerrt… i think so. this is my first time commenting- although you already know i’m a total clubber (!!!!) and have enjoyed talking with you weekly about the TG effect
So I’ve gone through about 1/3 of my closet so far and have already filled an entire hamper with things i haven’t worn in YEARS. Mesh, lace, leather, plastic, and a shocking amount of see-through & super cropped shirts??: What was i thinking!! Nasty-bad. Thank you Tim Gunn- I needed you. Although i think he should add one more pile to the book- a pile that you pack away and keep for the future children: A few things for a good laugh and a few things that you KNOW will come back into style some day. ie- Red pleather pants. (example is NOT a hypothetical!!)
Hope you’re having a most fabulous night and hope to see your pretty face soon! (ps-make it work!)
Valery- You most certainly did post in the right place! Yay for book club! (I was actually gonna email you today and see if you had anything to share. you were just ahead of the game.)
So, I absolutely agree. There are a few things that I would like to keep aside to give to my daughter one day. My first pair of designer jeans, my juicy track suit (although according to TG, that’s not really stylish) and my Tory Burch scarf.
Hmm…maybe we should just make the fourth pile ourselves–with or without Tim’s approval! (But let’s keep out the mesh and plastic! hehe!!)
Well, better get back to work… hopefully I’ll see you soon!!!!
So when does your next book club start? I am joining in!
I’m in!
) …and I’m curious about the book!
I just saw this 2nd book for the book club…did I miss it?! Looks interesting — I’ve wanted to read that book for awhile..
Oooh, love your commentary on Tina Fey’s book. I just saw it in the airport & almost bought it. I’ll put it on my list of want-to-read’s…
